Jewish Food Education
Young Families
Looking for ways to amp up your Tot Shabbat? Expand your playgroup experiences? We can offer exciting initial experiences with Jewish food to toddlers and young children through your synagogue programs. Wouldn't it be wonderful to eat challah that your kids made themselves on Shabbat? How about accompanying it with their own grape juice? We explore Shabbat and the holidays through food at an age-appropriate level.
Religious School
Are you hoping to enhance your religious school curriculum with more experiential and informal opportunities? If so, then doing it through food is a great avenue to learning. We can investigate Jewish history and culture through the foods of Israel and the diaspora. Our programs help students learn more about their own families through the foods we use to celebrate. We can work with your current curriculum to build on the themes you are emphasizing in class or use our own already developed and tested lessons to add a new perspective to your program.
Youth Groups
How about an Iron Chef style competition with your teens using traditionally Jewish ingredients? Or a Jewish Food scavenger hunt? The possibilities are endless. We have programs developed for your informal learning settings and confirmation classes. We can build a one-off event, plan and implement a semester of classes or enhance your already existing programs.
Adults
Are there adults in your congregation that didn’t grow up with a Jewish food tradition? People looking to gain more confidence when it comes to cooking a holiday meal? Bring them together for an adult education experience to learn some great traditional Jewish recipes with a modern twist- like Asian Ginger Matzah Ball Soup or Southern Style Beef Brisket. We can also run Parents Night Out fundraisers based around food. Participants will leave with new skills and great easy recipes to get them through hosting the family for the next big event.
